I just believe it's too bad there are lots of details lost on the hand, especially the fingers, due to underexposed spots.
I see strange sharp edges on the blurry background, on the right side. Maybe a result of a post-production ?
Last thing, in my opinion, it would have a greater impact if the background was giving more deepness, with more distance maybe with a vanishing point. I think it would've also illustrated better the idea of "wishing to escape".
